Ice In The Rod Guides Till Noon

 Larry caught a nice cutbow on a stone fly.

 Larry stayed bundled up all day.  The northwest wind was chilly!!!

Scott landed this brown on a G.W. Special.

No one pattern worked consistently.   

Guiding today was a challenge. 

Epic Downstream Winds Today

 The two bit hooker caught this fish.

 This beautiful rainbow was fooled by a Mother's Day Caddis.

 Steve nymphed all day.

This rainbow was caught on a hot wire prince.

A front is coming in and the winds howled.

However, the fish were looking up for the caddis'.

Blue Skies

 Greg landed this brown 50 yards from the put-in.

He said, "Now the monkey is off my back".

 John caught this one on a two bit hooker.

 This brown took a wire stone fly.

This was the only rainbow caught today.

We started fishing caddis' below Cotopaxi and floated into the hatch

below Lone Pine.  Then it was fun from then on!!!

The Caddis' Are Flying

 The first fish caught on a caddis for 2011.

 This rainbow was also fooled with a caddis.

 Lee caught this one on an elk hair caddis.

Lee started the day catching this fish.

Snowy Day

 Lee caught a nice rainbow on a wire stone fly.

Carla landed this rainbow using a two bit hooker.

We had sun, clouds, wind, snow, and corn snow,

but the fish were still feeding.

Another nice brown.

Took My Wife Fishing

 Darlene caught all her fish on a Two Bit Hooker.

She even made me take the fish off.  She didn't want to get her hands wet!!

The Fish Spotter approved of my technique.

She is giving this fish a kiss.  She didn't mind getting her paws wet.

Snow, Rain, and Sun

 The day started with a boat full of snow.

 This was the largest brown landed today.

 Chuck caught rainbows on the Arizona Prince and the Two Bit Hooker.

 Another nice rainbow.

A Spring Snow Storm

 Chris was trying to focus on the strike indicator amongst the snowflakes.

SEVERE Downstream Winds

 44 mph gusts with a sustained wind of 14 mph.

It got old!!!!

 John's biggest catch of the day--caught on a Two Bit Hooker.

Chris successfully landed this forked-tail branch.

He still was smiling.  What a good sport!

Nice Morning but a Cold Afternoon

Steve had all the cloths that he brought, and wished he had more.

The cold upstream wind was terrible!!!

Steve hands were so cold that he could barely hold on to this fish.

Gail Force Winds Today

Larry was happy with all the rainbows he caught today. He caught them on an Arizona Prince nymph and a Red Two-Bit Hooker.

This brown was caught on a new design fly that I am working on.

It will be named and revealed later.

We did catch some small fish too.

The Fish Spotter is going on a 3 day vacation. She'll be back on the job next week.

Spent the Morning with a Two-Bit Hooker

Queso liked looking at all the fish her Dad caught. Browns like red Two Bit Hookers.

And rainbows like red Two Bit Hookers.

A Relaxing Day of Walk-Wade Fishing

Stephan let The Fish Spotter check out a fish he caught. She approved.

We crossed the river to an island and she sat and whimpered.

She thought we were going to leave her. Not to worry, Larry went and got her and carried her across.

The fish were hungry for this caddis pupa.

Hopefully the adults aren't far behind!

Rowing Instruction/Fishing Day

Brad got to fish some of the time on the last day of his 5-day rowing course. Mark spent most of the time on the oars, but he did get get a chance to fish a little. He landed a nice cutbow. It was a GREAT day for me!! An instructor was needed to ride along, so I quietly sat in the back of the boat and caught fish all day on a black wooly bugger. Mark is an excellent boatman--he could feather the oars, and navigate around rocks which was necessary because the river is down to 247 cfs.

A Newby on the River Today

Michael landed this nice rainbow.

This is his first time fly fishing.

Michael had a smile on his face each time he caught a fish.

The flashback beadhead pheasant tail seemed to work today.
