10 " of New Fluffy Powder

STRONG Down Stream Winds!!

Walt landed most of his fish on a bead head flashback pheasant tail.

John used a 2-bit hooker all day.

By the way, Walt set a record--'the most flies donated to river rocks'

(in my 10 years of guiding).

The water has dropped to 286 c.f.s.

The fish are spooky!!

"Pitter" came on strong at the end of the day, landing 4 of the last 6 fish.

The Water Level Is Dropping

The above are John's larger than average catches for the day.

They were caught on the usual yellow stone fly and 2-bit hooker.

The river is running 405 c.f.s. and dropping.

The fish are misplaced and displaced, but the experienced fisherman

still landed over 40 fish today.

Chris always has that million dollar smile on his face

We floated into a huge blue winged olive hatch.

Successful Day In the WIND!

Today the wind blew upstream, downstream, and sideways. It made mending

a challenge.

Down River Float

It was a cold morning but Chris landed many fish on a 2-bit hooker,

psycho pheasant tail, and a yellow stone fly.

Jim landed this hefty rainbow on a golden stone fly.

Today Is My First Guide Trip for 2011

The temperature was 29 degrees when we started this morning.

Anne landed this rainbow on a golden stone fly.
Tim used the 2-bit hooker most of the day. It worked!

Anne was happy catching quite a few nice sized fish.

Another Beautiful Day On The River

I don't know why I'm not smiling because I got to fish ALL day!
A slow start to the catching, but once the sun was on the water
and the temp. warmed up, I caught some nice fish.

A Windy Day on the Arkansas

Caught a few nice fish today.
Had to go to the fly box to find some different patterns today.
They were picky.

Stone Bridge to Salida East Float

Lucas landed this brown on a caddis pupa.
While fighting a downstream wind, this rainbow was fooled with a yellow stone fly.

This rainbow is in spawning colors.

The First Float of 2011 Season
