We skied the powder together on our new "fat" Rossi skies. Darlene skiing the tree line making the first tracks.
The Fish Spotter got to play a little in the new snow before we hit the slopes.
Crisp fresh morning before the "slat rats" made tracks.

STRONG Down Stream Winds!!

Walt landed most of his fish on a bead head flashback pheasant tail.
John used a 2-bit hooker all day.

By the way, Walt set a record--'the most flies donated to river rocks'

(in my 10 years of guiding).

The Water Level Is Dropping

The above are John's larger than average catches for the day.
They were caught on the usual yellow stone fly and 2-bit hooker.
The river is running 405 c.f.s. and dropping.
The fish are misplaced and displaced, but the experienced fisherman
still landed over 40 fish today.
Chris always has that million dollar smile on his face
when he lands a rainbow.
We floated into a huge blue winged olive hatch.
Chris caught this on a size 20 chocolate midge
(recommended by Stefan from the fly shop).

Successful Day In the WIND!

This was John's second float trip. He liked it!!
This rainbow was caught on a yellow stone fly.
Thom was smiling when he caught this 17" brown on a psycho stone fly.
Today the wind blew upstream, downstream, and sideways. It made mending
a challenge.

Day 3 of My Guided Trips

What can I say??
My guide knew just where the big fish were hanging out
and he had tied the right kind of flies.
The Fish Spotter examining one of the many fish I caught today.

Another Beautiful Day On The River

I don't know why I'm not smiling because I got to fish ALL day!
A slow start to the catching, but once the sun was on the water
and the temp. warmed up, I caught some nice fish.
This rainbow took a hot-wire prince.
Several of the rainbows took the 2-bit hooker.
Oh yea!!!!
There is still some ice along the river--remnants of winter.

A Windy Day on the Arkansas

Caught a few nice fish today.
Had to go to the fly box to find some different patterns today.
They were picky.
This one took the red 2-bit hooker.
This was the only rainbow we caught today.
We were fighting a strong tail wind---wait a minute--no--
it was a strong head wind--wait a minute------

The Fish Spotter was ready to go fishing.
Darlene fished today. Larry was "practicing" his rowing techniques.
Guess what?? He hasn't forgotten where the fish live!!
I was removing a fly from The Fish Spotter's life vest.
This brown took the hot-wire prince.
This beauty took Larry's famous GW Special.
