GREAT Day on The River!!!!

The fishing was outstanding today.   The red two bit hooker was the fly of choice.

2/26/2014 Float

 Lucas tried many different flies from his fly box.

The Fish Spotter was replaced by Paisley who was concerned by my ability to navigate through the rocks.

Out with the skis--in with the oar handles.

 The boat floats!!

 Darlene was my first client....boy was she demanding.
 All she wanted to do was catch fish.

Darlene was happy to land this fish!!

2nd. lap.  This is what skinning up hills is all about--making turns on the way down.

Salida East to Rincon Float

 Alex liked it in the back.  He caught fish with a newly designed golden stone fly.

 The fish hit midges in the morning and mayfly patterns in the afternoon.

Lucas caught fish on his new patterns today.

Float Fishing 1/25/2014

Fish lined up under the 166 Bridge.  There was some ice floating down the river today.

A white midge caught this brown.

Alex caught his fish on a yellow stone fly.

Had to re-rig because of a lot of sticks in the water below town.

Alex christening his brand new boat.

First fish caught.

Alex put me onto this nice rainbow.  I think he will make a good guide.

I took the oars so Alex could catch fish. 

 I wanted to see how this new Down River handled.

We caught most of the fish on the two wire yellow stone fly.

It was a beautiful day to be out floating today.
